People in the world are panic buying alcohol, food, face masks, and hand sanitizers to the point that almost every grocery stores went out of stock of such items. It is just so saddening that this has to happen. It is unfortunate for those who don’t have much means to purchase in bulk.

Because hand sanitizers have become scarce in the market and even online, many people try to make hand sanitizers on their own. People from all over the world are looking for do-it-yourself sites on how to make hand sanitizers at home.

How to make hand sanitizer with aloe vera? There are three basic ingredients to make hand sanitizer with aloe vera.

  • Alcohol (preferably 99%)
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Essential oil (preferably tea tree oil for additional germ-killing power, scent, and for moisturizing)

It is important to achieve at least 60% alcohol content of your entire mixture. 60% of alcohol content is the minimum amount recommended to effectively kill germs. A good ratio to follow is the 3:1 ratio. This means 3 parts of alcohol to 1 part of aloe vera gel. To make a cup of hand sanitizer gel with aloe vera, mix ¾ cup of alcohol, ¼ cup aloe vera gel, and at least 10 drops of essential oil.

Mix all these ingredients to a bowl and be sure to mix it to a whisk. This will ensure that all ingredients mix together well. After mixing, put the mixture to a clean dispensing PET bottle and label it with “hand sanitizer”.
