Can another pump be used to inflate?
It's a standard connector and you can use other pumps and even electric pumps, but you can't connect something like a bike pump to it. It's a popular connector for large inflatables. You can find it at Lowe's.

Others may use an air compressor attachment. It may be cheaper then getting an electric one.

How do you put the fin on the board?
The fin box (where fin is to be inserted) may contain a plastic protector (it looks like a mini ladder). Slide the protector out and discard, then proceed and slide the fin into place. Use fin clamp pin to secure.

Is this board suitable for open water like the ocean (not always calm water)?
I have not used it on the open rough water so I do not know. It isn’t as wide as others and I would think if the water was rough you would need it to be wider but probably depends on your skill level

This board is best for calm water. It would be very difficult to balance in the ocean

This isn't the best board for the open ocean. For inland waters and calm conditions it's awesome because it's light, nimble, and easy to stash in my car. In rough seas though, this board would flex and could be difficult to control. I can feel the board flex a little whenever I cross a boat wake. That's no problem in s… if you're launching off the beach in Malibu I'd recommend a rigid board

Please remember to always keep a personal flotation device with you on your paddle board.

How difficult is it to inflate with the manual pump? I'm disabled and wondering if I'm going to be exhausted by pumping before I even get to the water

I guess it would depend on your disability. You need to be able to straddle your feet to hold down the pump pegs, and near the end, it does require some shoulder/upper back strength. I weigh 115 lbs, and I take short breaks near the end, as it is more difficult. It is a bit tiring, but a quick test, and good to go. Hope that helps. see less

Will the paddle float?
Please know that this paddle is not designed to float. It may float for a brief period, but it will likely fill up with water and sink.

I'm having trouble connecting the pump hose to the inflation valve on the board, is there a trick to it?
The white spring loaded pin needs to be up. Push the hose down on the valve and turn clockwise.

His height relative to the thickness of the board isn't quite as relevant as his weight. A short, heavy woman isn't going to do well on this board either... At 6'4" I would say something a tad wider and a bit longer for stability would help, but if he's athletic and weighs say...under 210lbs? He or anyone should be fine. If he's heavier than that AND that tall, I would recommend something more stable, otherwise he might be working harder than necessary for balance. May cost more but I'm guessing at 6'4" you're already experiencing a life premium on many things...I hope this helps. I happen to the have the build of a running back (5'7", 205) and I absolutely love it HOWEVER my girlfriend has one that is a bit more rectangular and a bit longer. On hers she and I can do yoga poses, head stands and other acrobatic attempts that are quite comical to try on mine.

It depends on his weight. The weight limit is 240 lbs. The weight capacity for this board is listed at 300 pounds.

Does the board fit in the bag it comes with when it is deflated?
Answer: Yes, with pleanty of room for the paddle, pump, a life jacket, the leash and a dry bag. The bag is also a very nice quality bag. We love that it is a backpack style so its easy to carry

How to detach the pump hose without a large about of air rushing out?
You have to close the valve before you begin pumping up. There is a pin in the center of the valve, twist it until it is out (closed).

Is there a patch kit for this board ?
The board comes with patches

Is it good for doing yoga?
The board is very sturdy on the water with a wide base making it perfect for yoga on calm waters. You may consider getting a paddleboard anchor if you plan on being in water with a current.
Personally I think it's a little small for yoga but some people have better balance than I do. If you get the board all the way up to 15 psi I'm sure it would work perfectly.

Is the pump single- or dual-action?
This SUP comes with a single action pump.

I had trouble standing on mine. Is there a secret?
Be sure it is inflated to the correct PSI, stand with your feet shoulder distance apart near where the carry handle is. Best to stand with your core engaged and a slight bend in the knees. Good luck!

Make sure it’s inflated enough. The first time we used ours they weren’t full enough and were unstable. Your pump should have a pressure gauge, so make sure it’s inflated to the recommended level. Hope this helps. Have fun!

Make sure that you have enough air pressure so that it does not bend and is real rigid.  I put my feet close on each side of the handle almost dead center. Then you just work on your balance. I have taken friends with me and they have balance issues. One friend's legs shake the whole time. It takes practice. Have fun!

How much does the board itself weigh when inflated?
A bit over 20 lbs. It is not as heavy as regular board. I can carry it with no problem.

I bought this SUP for my daughter. She lost the accessory bag, along with the fin, pump and paddle. Is it possible to purchase all new pieces?
The accessories can be purchased individually on Amazon. They won't be exact replacements but you can search for SUP bag, pump, paddle and fin. If you are looking for exact replacements, I suggest contacting the manufacturer. They should be able to help you.

What are the dimensions of the backpack when the SUP is deflated and inside? I was hoping to be able to take it on the airplane as my carry on.
It is too large for a carry-on, it will have to go into checked baggage.

Will this fit in a standard 28" suitcase for travel? Or will the bag that comes to carry it be strong enough to withstand flying as checked baggage?
No, it will not fit in a 28 in suitcase due to the length of the paddles (even folded I think they are just under 36 in). But, yes, the case is heavy duty canvas which should be more than enough to withstand flying as checked baggage. It originally comes with some foam packing materials when shipped which you don't need for daily use. However, I would save it (wish I thought of it before) for flying and also make note of how they packed it for shipping.

Can you put a dog on this?
As long as the recommended weight limit is adhered to, then absolutely!

How wide is it?
The board is approx. 30" wide in the center.

Is this board us coast guard certified?
While the USCG does not "certify" SUP boards, they have determined that SUP boards operated outside a surfing, swimming or bathing area are “vessels” under USCG regulations. This means you need to have a USCG approved life jacket, a whistle/sound producing device and a light for night/dark paddling kept on board.

Does this board come with a warranty?
Yes it says limited one year warranty

Is this a good board for a beginner?
I'm a beginner and I do just fine on it. For me I started slow, sitting on my butt paddling then worked to my knees and up to my feet. I'm still a bit wobbly on it but that's more just my lack of practice. As for set up, it's pretty straight forward but when putting it away make sure to read the directions! I busted the valve on the board the first time I used it because I thought I would be smart and use the tool to let the air out instead of pressing the spring. That was a bad idea..

How can I get a replacement leash from Pathfinder?
A leash is not supplied with the board.

I do not see where it offers a limited 1 year warranty. what are the details of this?
The board's manufacturer offers a limited 1 year against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is void if the Paddleboard is left in heat or direct sun when inflated (and not in the water), stored in contact with a heat source, or when it is towed using the installed D-Rings on the board. Additionally, this warranty does not cover damage associated with commercial use (rentals).

Can an electric pump be used to air this board up?
They don't recommend it but I do use one. I don't inflate all the way with the electric pump. I stop when it just starts to look rigid then finish the rest of the way with the hand pump.

How long is the paddle? Will it work for someone 5'10"?
The paddle, I believe, starts at 64.25" and extends to 85.5". I'm 5'7" and barely had it extended, so I think so.
Yes. I'm 5'8" and there are several inches to spare. It's an expandable paddle and you can set it to whatever height you need.
The paddle measures 65" at its shortest, and 86" at its longest.

What is the actual weight when it is deflated?
The weight of the board is approximately 24lbs, and that stays the same inflated or deflated.
